Bioenergy potentials in Germany 2050 – an estimation of the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR)
The Agency for Renewable Resources has made an estimation of the German bioenergy potentials in 2050. The video shows how the potentials are put together. The simulation describes that by 2050 the present German energy demand (13.646 PJ) will decrease to 7.000 PJ. Furthermore, less areas will be used for food production, agricultural land will generally be used in a more productive way and the population will decrease. All these conditions might have a positive effect on the land use for bioenergy purposes. The total volume of the domestic bioenergy potentials might, thus, amount to 1.640 PJ. It makes 23% of the forecast for the total German energy demand in 2050.
